Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is laparoscopic cholecystectomy?
A. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of your gallbladder using a laparascope, which is a thin metal tube with a light and tiny camera, and other surgical tools. The gallbladder is a pear-shaped organ that is part of the digestive system. It lies beneath the liver on your right side. It stores bile, which is a fluid produced by the liver to help to digest fats. The gallbladder is removed when you have gallstones, pain, or swelling in your gallbladder.
Q. What is Oncologic surgery?
A. Oncologic surgery is cancer surgery.
